  43. Hey!  I didn't say it was a cheapie, I said it was a no name.  It
  44. sports V.42, V.42bis MNP 5, LAP-M, etc.  One of the big reasons for
  45. the excellent downloads to log files is the comm program I use;
  46. Ralf Brown's "RBCOMM" version 3.41.  (I tried version 3.46, the latest,
  47. and only got about half the speed on logging.  Go figure.)  I also use
  48. a 1 meg ram disk for logging.  I tried 6 or 8 different programs
  49. before I found RBCOMM and none came close for ease of use.  I even
  50. registered one, then, after I got on the internet, it was really
  51. unstable.  RBCOMM requires external protocols for file download/upload,
  52. though.  I've never needed anything but zmodem so I just use PDZM.
