- Hey! I didn't say it was a cheapie, I said it was a no name. It
- sports V.42, V.42bis MNP 5, LAP-M, etc. One of the big reasons for
- the excellent downloads to log files is the comm program I use;
- Ralf Brown's "RBCOMM" version 3.41. (I tried version 3.46, the latest,
- and only got about half the speed on logging. Go figure.) I also use
- a 1 meg ram disk for logging. I tried 6 or 8 different programs
- before I found RBCOMM and none came close for ease of use. I even
- registered one, then, after I got on the internet, it was really
- unstable. RBCOMM requires external protocols for file download/upload,
- though. I've never needed anything but zmodem so I just use PDZM.
- (Public Domain ZModem, another free progam.)
